A CITY resident has won £60,000 on the People's Postcode Lottery.

45-year-old Neil Crossland’s postcode, SP2 8FH, was announced as a winner on Tuesday, October 13.

HGV driver Neil found out how much he’d won via a video call with People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Judie McCourt.

When he was told he had won, he said: “That’s brilliant. I can’t take the smile off my face.”

Salisbury Journal:

Neil and his partner of three years Laura have recently had to postpone their wedding planned for this year.

Neil said: “This will really help pay for our wedding next year so Laura will be very pleased.

“We should have been getting married this year but had to push it to June next year because of Covid.

Laura was at work when Neil got the good news, but the couple will celebrate tonight when she’s back.

Neil said: “It’s not every day someone gives you a cheque for that amount of money is it?! It’s up to her what we do to celebrate. I think she will be more excited than I am! I couldn’t wish for a better day.”

“ [I am] Ecstatic and over the moon. This is like the day you dream about. You never think it’s going to happen.”

32 per cent of ticket sales goes directly to good causes and players of People’s Postcode Lottery have helped raise over £600 million for good causes across Britain and internationally since 2005.

Neil said: “That’s absolutely brilliant. I support some local charities myself but it’s hard to support everything. It’s absolutely amazing to help so many through playing.”

The neighbours won the prize as part of People’s Postcode Lottery’s special October campaign, where one postcode is announced as a £30,000 prize winner every day. All the players in the postcode win £30,000 for every ticket they hold.

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador, Judie McCourt, said: “A huge congratulations to Neil and Laura. I hope they have the dream wedding they deserve and I’ll keep my fingers crossed that the sun shines for them on the big day.”

This draw was promoted on behalf of children’s education charity, Theirworld, which has received over £6.6 million in funding thanks to players.
