ONE MAN has been hospitalised and another arrested after a young man was allegedly stabbed in a fight at Basingstoke station at the weekend.
British Transport Police were scrambled to the station on Sunday evening at around 10.20pm after reports of several people in a fight which involved glass bottles.
The "young man" was taken to Basingstoke hospital with stab wounds, according to BTP.
However, a spokesperson said that his wounds "are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening".
A 24-year-old man from Basingstoke has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
He has been released on bail whilst officers investigate.
The spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Basingstoke station at 10.21pm on Sunday 11 October following reports of a fight involving glass bottles.
"A young man was taken to a local hospital with laceration wounds, but these are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.
"A man in his twenties has since been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm."
The incident was believed to have taken place on the concourse outside of the station building.
