Just under 50 people were diagnosed with Covid-19 across the weekend as cases rose across Hampshire.
49 people tested positive for Covid-19 across the county across Saturday and Sunday, with four of those being diagnosed in Test Valley, bringing the total number of cases to 730. This is a rate per 100,000 people of 578.6.
There were three cases across Basingstoke and Deane, bringing the total to 1,129 Covid-19 cases in the borough, with a rate per 100,000 of 639.4.
The most cases in Hampshire were reported from the Winchester local authority, with 12 cases diagnosed over the weekend. This brings the total up to 677, with a rate of 542.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Elsewhere in the county, two cases were diagnosed in Fareham, three cases were diagnosed in East Hampshire, Eastleigh and Hart, while four were diagnosed in Havant, Rushmoor and Gosport.
On Sunday, a further 32 people who had tested positive for the virus were announced as having died by officials, bringing the total number of Covid-positive patients dying in England’s hospitals to 30,741.
The patients were all aged between 54 and 100, with all but one having a known underlying health condition.
As of 9am on Sunday, there were a further 12,872 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK. It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 603,716.
