Basingstoke's Odeon Cinema, in Churchill Way, will begin operating a limited timetable from Friday, October 9.

The cinema will be open "three or four days" including Fridays and Saturdays according to an Odeon spokesperson. No further clarity was given

The move comes as the AMC owned chain react to the loss of revenue due to the coronavirus restrictions.

It comes after Vue announced that it was 'considering its options' and Cineworld confirmed the temporary closures of all of its cinemas yesterday.

Last week, it was announced that the latest James Bond film, No Time to Die, was to be delayed until April 2021 to ensure it is seen by as large an audience as possible.

Since re-opening in July Odeon have taken several measures to reduce the risk of Covid transmission as per government guidelines. Therse include spaced seating plans, frequent and more thorough cleaning routines, cashless transactions and extensive training of staff.

Face masks are required to be worn by patrons unless eating or drinking.

Andover's Odeon Cinema will also operate with reduced opening times from October 9.

Odeon were contacted for a statement but have not responded at time of writing.
