PUPILS and staff from a primary school are self-isolating after a confirmed coronavirus case.

As reported, a pupil from Hill View Primary School in Bournemouth tested positive for the virus, and the school has written to parents to inform them of the situation.

A spokesperson for the school said: “We can confirm that a pupil at the academy has tested positive for Covid-19.

“Having taken advice from the Department for Education and Public Health England, children and staff in our Year 6 bubble are now self-isolating and will return to school on October 8.

“A deep clean of the zone and classrooms that the group has been based in has been carried out as a further precautionary measure.

“In the meantime, we are providing virtual learning for all pupils whilst they are at home, so that they can continue their learning if they feel well enough to do so.

“The safety of our pupils and staff is our number one priority and we have written to parents to inform them and to reassure them of our processes and practices.”
