SAINTS are close to reaching an agreement over the termination of Guido Carrillo's contract, according to a report in AS.
The Spanish publication claim La Liga side Elche are keen on signing the striker.
Saints broke their transfer record to sign Carrillo from Monaco in 2018, shelling out £19.2million.
But the 29-year-old has made just 10 first-team appearances for the Hampshire club, with his last game for Saints coming in a 3-0 defeat at West Ham United in the Premier League in March 2018.
Carrillo, who has never scored for Saints, has spent the past two seasons out on loan at Leganes.
And the Argentine is now said to be "close to terminating the remaining year of his contract" with Elche having reportedly enquired about the striker's situation.
