HAVING no fans at Turf Moor will not make it any easier for Saints to end their hoodoo, according to boss Ralph Hasenhuttl.

Saints have not won at the ground since 2007, losing 3-0 in their last visit in August 2019.

And even with no supporters permitted in stadia currently due to COVID-19 restrictions, Hasenhuttl does not feel that will affect the match.

"No. I don't see it that way," he said.

"I do not think the fans had such a big impact in the last game there. We have played very well there, and we were close to a win. Also in the second one, we had more problem with the wind.

"It is never easy there though, a lot of teams have struggled. It is not a coincidence that they have been successful in the Premier League.

"They are very well organised, even if they do have some injury problems, but we know how tough it is. But we are also not so bad."

He added: "We are better than we have shown in the last three games, and this is what we are focusing on. We know that we can play better, that we can play more efficiently and calmer.

"We had a lot of chances in the last games where we did not score. We have had games last season where we were more clinical and this would help us absolutely.

"Normally, at half-time against Tottenham, it would have been 2-0 for us at least. But we didn't do it, so that is our goal for the next games."
