A PUB near Hook is currently closed to customers, after the management were unable to continue running the venue due to difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Jekyll and Hyde, near Stratfield Turgis, Hook, states on its website that it is "currently closed until further notice".

The operating brewery, Hall and Woodhouse, has said that the pub is due to reopen.

Chris Chapman, head of business partnerships, said: “Due to the impact of COVID-19 on the hospitality industry, our previous business partner of the Jekyll & Hyde pub had to sadly close its doors.

“We have now successfully appointed new business partners who are due to re-open the pub in the coming months.”

However, it has not given a date for the pub's reopening.

Hall and Woodhouse put out an advert earlier in the summer looking for someone to run the "charming and spacious" pub.

According to the advert, the pub, which is a former 15th century coaching inn, is popular due to its "prominent roadside location" and boasts "genuine charm and character."

It also includes a large outdoor garden and patio, and live-in accommodation for the business partners.

Hall and Woodhouse operates around 250 pubs across the South of England, including The New Inn and The Chequers in Hook, and The Portsmouth Arms and The Coach and Horses in Basingstoke.
