Police are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a crash this morning near Sherfield school.

Heavy delays were reported in both directions on the A33 this morning after a road traffic incident.

Police are now calling for witnesses of the crash to come forward after the driver of one of the cars involved fled the scene.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said: "We were called at 6.05am on September 18 to a report of a two vehicle collision on the A33 near the Longbridge Mill at Sherfield on Loddon.

"Two vehicles, a silver Skoda Fabia and a silver Mercedes, sustained damage. No serious injuries reported.

"One of the drivers did not remain at the the scene and police enquiries are ongoing to locate the driver.

"The road was blocked for a time with fuel and oil spillages but was cleared for re-opening at 8.29am.
