An 11-year-old girl has been taken to hospital after she was hit by a car near the leisure park.

A spokes person for Hampshire Constabulary said: "We were called just after 4pm to a collision involving a car and bicycle on Worting Road.

"The road had been closed while officers attended with the ambulance service.

"The cyclist, an 11-year-old girl, suffered injuries and has been taken to hospital, and the road is now open again."

Stagecoach South apologised to users after the bus service ws disrupted:"Due to a serious accident and road closure in Basingstoke on the B3400 we are unable to serve all stops between the Bus Station and Worting Church, this will also cause delays to all vehicles on this route. Our apologies for any delays."

Traffic is still likely to be congested on the B3400 between Basingstoke Leisure Park and Buckskin roundabout.

Motorists should approach the area with caution.
