Some people are said to be burning through money. But early this morning, that metaphor came close to becoming a reality.
Fire crews attended De La Rue's site at Overton Mill, which makes specialist paper for banknotes, early this morning.
They received a call just after 3am this morning about a fire taking place inside machine ducting at the plant, with crews from Basingstoke, Whitchurch and Overton heading to the scene.
Firefighters had to remove the ducting before extinguishing the flames, using two sets of breathing apparatus and a hose to do so.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said that crews found no other signs of fire at the site, and an all stop was called at 5:18am.
