COMMUTERS are facing a second day of disruption on the railway this morning after a landslip blocked both lines at Micheldever.

As previously reported by The Gazette, all services between Basingstoke and Southampton Central were cancelled last night after heavy rain showers caused a landslip which blocked both railway lines.

Engineers are on site, although disruption has persisted into this morning.

South Western Railway expect disruption to last until the end of the day.

Rail replacement buses are still in operation between Basingstoke and Southampton in both directions, whilst buses are also operating from Woking to Basingstoke.

Additionally, CrossCountry services are still operating between Southampton Central and Basingstoke, but are being diverted via Salisbury with delays of up to an hour.
