THE Basingstoke Bison have re-signed one of the top young British forwards in their league Sean Norris.

The 20-year-old had a super first campaign with the Herd last season, as he returned over a point a game accruing 30, which included 15 goals.

This was after he started the year with the Slough Jets and collected 22 points from just 10 games, before he joined the Bison full time in late January.

The year before the Ascot-born forward collected 79 points for the Slough Jets in just 24 games, as they won the South Two title. He was also voted onto the second all star team for the league.

He has also played 19 times for the Milton Keynes Thunder in South One, scoring six times.

Bison player coach Ashley Tait is delighted to have re-signed Sean and said: “He certainly was a priority to re-sign as his points production when he came in, made him one of the top three players on the team.”

“He is a natural goal scorer and there are not many of them about, as he also has good speed and a great shot.”

In other news at the club the Herd’s equipment manager Gary Mitchell has been appointed Great Britain under-16 equipment manager for the forthcoming season, which will include an international tournament in Latvia.

Tait said: “It is a testament to his professionalism and attitude and we are all delighted at the club that GB will now be able to use his skills.”

Also last week, the Bracknell Bees who now will be simply known as the Bees, confirmed they will play their home games at Slough this season, after the closure of the Hive.
