A 13-YEAR-OLD boy has admitted having a lock knife in public.

The boy, who cannot be named due to legal reasons, admitted being in possession of the weapon in Buckskin Centre on March 14.

He also pleaded guilty to two public order offences - causing harassment, alarm or distress through threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour - at Buckskin Centre on the same day.

The case has been adjourned to tie up with other cases, and will be heard again on September 11.

The teenager has been granted unconditional bail.

The court heard how he "wants to rehabilitate himself", according to defence counsel Ed Stott.
