A BURGLARY at a town centre nursery has been described as ‘sad’.

Thieves damaged several windows and stole a number of items from Ramsden Robins nursery in Barrow.

Police confirmed they have launched an investigation following the incident

Officers said suspects damaged a shed and stole prams and trikes from the Thwaite Street nursery.

They have appealed to the public to come forward with information.

Hindpool councillor Anne Burns hit out after the incident.

She said: “I’m really saddened.

“That nursery is there to help the community

“That school has been an anchor in the community for the children and parents

“I do think people are not thinking about the consequences of their actions.

“I do wish they would stop, take a step back and think about what they’ve done.”

Is it thought the burglars struck overnight between July 30 and August 1.

They took a black pram from the nursery as well as two trikes.

In appealing to public for information on the incident, a spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “Officers are investigating an incident of burglary that occurred overnight between 30 July and 1 August, that occurred at an address on Thwaite Street.

“Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 115 of 6 August.

“Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
