A MAN who collapsed in a park wants to say thank you to the duty police officer for rescuing him.

A resident had an asthma attack outside the War Memorial Park in Basingstoke on Saturday, August 8 at 10.40pm.

And an on duty female office stopped and came to his rescue, acting quickly to get other emergency personnel to the scene.

The man told The Gazette: “This officer who saved my life is truly an inspiration.

“To this day, I do not know the name of this officer and I have been trying to find out but have had no luck.”

He wants to go beyond just thanking the police officer for her help on Saturday night, and believes she deserves more for what she did.

“If it was not for her, who knows what might have happened.

“Truly a hero,” he added.
