A Basingstoke man has been sent to prison after breaching a restraining order.

Aaron Joseph Grant, of Peartree Way in Oakridge, pleaded guilty to going within 100 metres of the victim's home on July 31, whilst being prohibited to do so by a non-molestation order made in June.

The court heard that it was the second breach of order inside six weeks, and therefore there was no reason to suspend the sentence.

He has been jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £128.

A man has pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman in Oakley, Basingstoke Magistrates' Court have confirmed.

Samuel Brendan White, of Andwell near Hatch, pleaded guilty to the assault of a woman on March 15.

The court had previously made an error in their court listing, listing White as having plead not guilty. However, the administration officer for Basingstoke Magistrates' Court has now clarified that White pleaded guilty at his latest hearing in July.

He was due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates' Court yesterday (August 5).

A Popley man is set to stand trial later this month accused of assaulting a woman.

Jamie David Emerson, of Appleton Drive, denies the assault by beating of the woman in Tadley on May 1.

He has been been released on conditional bail ahead of the trial, which will take place on August 21 at Aldershot Magistrates' Court.

The 30-year-old has been excluded from contacting, directly or indirectly, the victim, or entering Tadley.

A man from South Ham is accused of assaulting a woman.

Dominic Kimber, of South Ham Road, is alleged to have assaulted the woman in Basingstoke on March 11.

The case has been adjourned because of the coronavirus pandemic, and will next be heard on October 26.

The 49-year-old, who must not enter South Ham Road, is not required to attend.
