Eight people have been pulled to safety from a house fire in Basingstoke this morning.
Firefighters from Basingstoke and Odiham were called to the scene just after 5am.
A spokesman for Basingstoke Fire Service said five units attended, at 5.09am.
In a tweet, they said: "Eight persons rescued by HFRS, fire extinguished by BA crews. 4x BA, 2x HRJ, 2x MJ and PPV Level 3 used."
A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: "Appliances from Basingstoke and Odiham were called to a two-storey building in St Andrew's Road containing six flats at 5.10am this morning.
"There was a fire in a second-floor vacant flat which was extinguished using eight breathing apparatus, four hose reel jets and tactical ventilation.
"Eight people were rescued by HFRS and all persons were accounted for.
"Police were mobilised as well and the stop message came in at 6.16am."
