We need to hear publicly from our county and borough councillors about what they are doing about the County Council plans for Brighton Hill Roundabout.
The County Council have backtracked saying that the existing pedestrian/cycle subways will now be removed due to technical challenges and cost factors. If carried out, this will seriously jeopardise public safety.
What other busy roundabouts elsewhere in Hampshire put pedestrians, cyclists and motorists at such risk?
I understand the projected works will involve disruption for two years, all for two minutes shaved off the journey to the town centre at peak times.
It's worth acting now to get things right. Health and safety should be the priority for all.
