DAVID Langley, proprietor of Church Street Models in the Top of Town, is a keen runner.
During the lockdown he found a novel way of continuing to serve his local customers.
At the beginning of the lockdown period, David would run to the shop as part of his permitted daily exercise to check on its security.
On one occasion, a regular customer rang up asking for paint for a model kit he was building. David took a card payment over the phone in the shop and then ran home via the customer's house to drop the paint off.
Since then, in addition to the mail order service he offers for customers further afield, David has been running orders all over town.
David, a member of Hi-5 Rooksdown running group said: "Running is something I do anyway.
"If I can combine it with keeping my customers going without breaking social distancing rules that's got to be a plus.
"Many of them have been isolating and others have been worrying about the future. The 57-year-old only took up running three years ago and since the lockdown started, he estimates he’s run 236 miles to deliver modelling kits.
