There has been one new coronavirus deaths recorded across all Hampshire hospitals in the past 24 hours.

It comes as England today (Thursday) moves closer to 29,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals.

Figures released by NHS England today show that amongst the new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, none were at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals. This is the fourth straight day where no new deaths have been reported.

No new deaths were recorded at Portsmouth Hospital, one was recorded at University Hospital Southampton and none at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

A further 62 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 28,175*.

*As part of a continual process to improve the quality of the dataset recording Covid-related deaths in England hospitals, 25 records have been removed which had been reported twice in error. These changes have been incorporated in the data published today and are reflected in the total number of reported deaths in hospitals in England.

Patients were aged between 13 days and 96 years old. Three patients, aged between 13 days and 83, had no known underlying health conditions.
