Well it has certainly been a busy week for shoppers in Basingstoke.

Festival Place was jam-packed full of people looking to take in the nearly 100 stores that reopened as lockdown restrictions eased.

And now with many restaurants open for delivery, we decided to put together a comprehensive list of those with the best food hygiene in Basingstoke and surrounding areas.

As of this week, 152 restaurants, cafes and canteens within the boundaries of Basingstoke and Deane - as listed on the Food Standards Agency website - currently have a five star food hygiene rating.

The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at their premises and online so you can make more informed choices about where to buy and eat food.

5 – hygiene standards are very good

4 – hygiene standards are good

3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory

2 – some improvement is necessary

1 – major improvement is necessary

0 – urgent improvement is required
