PHOTOS taken by shocked residents show the damage caused by a group of youths who allegedly smashed windows and urinated outside of empty businesses last night.

As previously reported, police were called on Wednesday night after a group of "ten to 15" youths were spotted congregating on Pelton Road in Houndmills.

Neighbours were forced to watch on, saying that the group were throwing stones, smashing windows and even urinating outside a business.

Now photos taken by one neighbour show the damage done.

Several windows can be seen broken, with a light still attached hanging out of one window.

She said at the time: "You can literally just hear the building getting smashed to bits. And more bikes have gone down there. A girl just walked away from the building to go to the loo outside one business."

Five police cars were called to the scene, and the neighbour said that the group were dispersed with no arrests made.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that they were called out to the incident, but that no one was present when they arrived.

A spokesperson said: "We were called just before 9pm to a report of windows being damaged at a building on Pelton Road. Officers attended, but no one was present when they arrived. Enquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information can call 101, quoting 44200199197."
