Police have provided an update after a man was arrested in Hatch Warren yesterday afternoon.
Around half-a-dozen police cars were called to Constantine Way on Wednesday at about 2pm.
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said at the time that officers attended "in order to carry out enquiries."
"A man, who was in his 30s, became threatening towards officers and was arrested," the statement continued
Today police have said that the man has been released.
"A-30-year-old man has been released under investigation following his arrest in Constantine Way, Basingstoke, yesterday (June 3)." Hampshire Constabulary said.
"He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon; using threatening words or behaviour and sending a communication of an offensive nature."
