Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) is hosting its final Open Event on Tuesday 9 June, but due to social distancing rules, the College is taking their event online, giving prospective students the chance to find out more about the college from the comfort of their own homes.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, BCoT has relied on its use of technology to ensure students continue their education in the safest way possible. By introducing a Virtual Open Event, the College is taking another step to ensuring services can continue but in a safe way for everyone involved.

The Virtual Open Event is the first ever hosted online by the College. BCoT will showcase its range of full-time courses and apprenticeships via dedicated talks, where students can hear directly from lecturers. BCoT’s dedicated apprenticeship team, Aspiral Learning, will be on-hand in their own talk to help students with advice and guidance on applying for an apprenticeship. There will also be a talk from Principal Anthony Bravo and a question and answer room where prospective students are able to pose any queries they have, and engage with staff.

Anthony Bravo, said: “The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in many changes to the ways that BCoT operates, but I am proud that the College is still able to offer the same level of support to students. The Virtual Open Event is a big step forward in providing prospective students with the information they need to make their next step choices for this September and I am looking forward to welcoming them to our online event.”

BCoT’s Virtual Open Event is taking place from 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday 9 June. A full timetable of talks is available and you can pre-register to attend the event by visiting bcot.onlineopendays.com
