HUNDREDS of homes were left without power in Whitchurch on Monday afternoon.
Just after 4pm, households across Whitchurch and rural villages towards Andover suffered a power cut.
Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) said 50 known postcodes were affected and they expected the power to be switched back on by 7pm.
A spokesman said: “We’re sorry for the loss of supply. We currently have a fault affecting the areas listed. Our engineers are on site working hard to get the power back on as quickly as they can.
"If you need more information, please call us on 105 or send us a message on Facebook or Twitter (@ssencommunity) and quote reference 'GG4326'.”
The Gazette has contacted SSEN for comment.
Power returned to most homes just after 5pm.
