There have been four new coronavirus deaths recorded across all Hampshire hospitals.

It comes as England today (Friday) moves closer to 27,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals.

Figures released by NHS England today show that amongst the new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, one was at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

One new death was recorded at Portsmouth Hospital, two were recorded at University Hospital Southampton and none at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust and one at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

A further 149 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 26,383.

Patients were aged between 35 and 101 years old. Eleven of the 149 patients (aged 70 and 95) had no known underlying health condition.
