A man has been jailed for 28 days after kicking a police officer following an incident in Oakridge.
Police were called to Oakridge Road, Basingstoke, at around 12.31am on Wednesday.
A 28-year-old man from Basingstoke and a 33-year-old from Basingstoke were arrested on suspicion of causing Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.
One of the men sustained lacerations to his fingers and the other sustained cuts to his arms and head.
The 28-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
Hampshire Constabulary has today said that both men have been released on conditional bail while police enquiries continue in regard to the incident in Oakridge Road.
But the 28-year-old was also charged with assaulting a police officer by kicking him.
He appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates Court this morning where he pleaded guilty to the charge and has been sent to prison for 28 days.
