There have been no new coronavirus deaths recorded across any of Hampshire's four hospital trusts.

It comes as England today (Sunday) edges closer to 25,000 coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals.

Figures released by NHS England today show that amongst the new deaths recorded in the past 24 hours, none were at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals.

No new deaths was recorded at Portsmouth Hospital, none were recorded at University Hospital Southampton and none at Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust.

A further 90 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,617.

Patients were aged between 45 and 100 years old. One of the 90 patients had no known underlying health condition.

However, the Covid Patient Notification System did not operate for a period of time on Saturday, May 16. The consequences of this situation may therefore be reflected in the number of deaths reported today by NHS England and NHS Improvement.
