A MAN has been sentenced to prison after assaulting three police officers over the bank holiday weekend.

Keiran Clyde Michael Doyle, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to three counts of assault by beating of PC Petts, PS Dennett and PC Millership at West Ham Close on Sunday, May 10.

He also admitted one count of criminal damage after damaging a wall at a property there on the same day.

The 23-year-old was committed to prison for 12 weeks for each assault, to be served concurrently, and asked to pay £50 for each assault.

Additionally, a community order issued by Basingstoke Magistrates' Court back in January was revoked.

Doyle had been given the community order after assaulting two police officers on December 27, 2019 in Basingstoke.

However, after reoffending, District Judge Timothy Pattinson sentenced him to 12 weeks imprisonment for each assault, also to be served concurrently.

At the court earlier this week, prosecutors withdrew two further charges - assault and criminal damage of a police van.

A 12-month restraining order was also made.
