KFC has revealed the reasoning behind its decision to reopen one of its stores.
Earlier today, the takeaway chain in in Euskirchen Way was once again serving food, not only for delivery services such as UberEats and Deliveroo, but also for drive-thru customers.
Dozens upon dozens of people immediately flocked to the store for a quick bite to eat.
But what was the reasoning for reopening the store?
Well a KFC spokesman said in a statement to the Gazette: "KFC Basingstoke Leisure Park has reopened.
"Delivery remains the best way to get your fried chicken fix – however we are offering drive thru, to give a little more choice to those who are already on the road for essential journeys or on their way home from difficult shifts.”

But as some have pointed out of Facebook, is KFC really an essential journey, especially for those people not classed as key workers?
Well here is what the Government guidance says on "acceptable" reasons for leaving your home
- Shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible
- One form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household
- Any medical need, including to donate blood, avoid injury or illness, escape risk of harm, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
- Travelling for work purposes, but only where you cannot work from
But no matter what your opinion, the store is open for business.
