Well it didn't take long for people to flock to KFC after the store reopened one of its Basingstoke branches earlier today.

On Tuesday, the Gazette reported how the fast food giant had reopened its and already people are licking their lips.

Here are some of the best responses we received to the news.

"Lunch sorted on payday then."

"Summer body 2021 maybe???"

"Omg I wish we had some money!!!"

"Whoop! Great news for chicken lovers."

The queue this afternoon was also at least 30 cars long and going round the corner at the Euskirchen Way store.

But not everyone is as joyous as these people.

In a poll by the Gazette that asked people if this was the right decision by KFC to reopen, 63% of votes so far said yes, but then 37% were against the decision.

Some of these comments seem to echo those concerns.

"Is this an essential journey?!" one person wrote.

"I’m confused. We are still In lockdown so why did they suddenly change their minds?" Another said.

We are still awaiting an official comment from KFC regarding the decision to reopen in Basingstoke.
