A man has been arrested in connection to a 'Peeping Tom' stalking case.

As previously reported by the Gazette, police launched an investigating following a series of incidents during which a man was allegedly seen snooping around outside a woman's home in the middle of the night, watching her while she was in her dressing gown.

The three alleged incidents took took place in February, March and April, all in Sheppard Road, Basingstoke.

Today police have confirmed that a man has been arrested in connection with the incidents.

A spokeswoman for Hampshire Constabulary said: "A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stalking following a series of suspicious incidents at a property in Sheppard Road, Basingstoke.

"The man, who is from Basingstoke, has been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.

"This is an ongoing investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment any further."
