A man who assaulted three people including two police officers has been jailed.

Jonathan Panter, 26, of no fixed abode, was jailed for 20 weeks for assaulting a 28-year-old man and two police officers, one of which was also racially aggravated.

He will also have to pay a total of £130 compensation to the victims. 

He plead guilty to two charges of assault against an emergency worker and one assault by beating at Basingstoke Magistrates Court yesterday, April 23.

The victim was outside Aldershot Bus Station when he as assaulted at around 4.30pm on April 1, officers attended and whilst arresting Panter they were also assaulted.

PC Paul Williams said: “I think this is a great result for the victim, the officers who attended the incident and dealt with the situation, and the CID team and custody staff who dealt with Panter in custody. 

 

“It is also a great result for the criminal justice system working together not just to get justice for the victims from our community, but also for the police.”
