A BOTTLE bank outside Sainsbury's superstore in Tadley was snapped overflowing with bottles, with residents complaining they were unable to dispose of their waste properly.

Dozens of bottles were seen neatly standing next to each other in a bundle, as a woman looked down at the pile up amongst several black sacks.

A resident posted on Tadley’s Facebook page: “Omg! Just dropped off a few empties!!!”

One person said: “Have you been dropping your bottles off again lol.”

While another commented: "You need to stop coming back to Tadley to dump ya waste woman."

The bottle build up comes after Alcohol Change UK reported that 8.6 million adults are drinking more frequently under lockdown.

Research shows that drinking habits are happening in two ways.

More than one in three of the 1,555 drinkers surveyed told Alcohol Change UK that they have either stopped drinking or reduced how often they drink, since the lockdown.

Six per cent have stopped drinking entirely.

But, some people are drinking more often.

Around one in five drinkers (21 per cent) told us that they have been drinking more often since the lockdown.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We are working to clear the area as soon as possible and have introduced extra collections at our Tadley store so that we can meet increased demand for this service. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
