HAMPSHIRE'S number of recorded coronavirus cases has jumped by 69 to 567.

Public Health England has released figures this morning showing that the number of cases in Hampshire has risen from 498 to 567 in just 24 hours.

The cases in Southampton have jumped from 68 yesterday to 76 confirmed in the city this morning.

Across the UK, there has been a total of 25,150 cases recorded.

A total of 1,789 patients have now died overall in UK hospitals as of 5pm on Monday, the Department of Health said, up by 381 from 1,408 the day before.

The jump is by far the biggest day-on-day rise in the number of deaths since the outbreak began.

This comes as a total of 11 coronavirus patients have died at Southampton General Hospital.
