A FURTHER 168 people have died after being diagnosed with Covid-19 in England, bringing the death toll to 689.

Patients were aged between 29 and 98 years old.

All but four patients aged between 82 and 91 had underlying health issues.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus has increased by 2,921 in the UK in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 14,579.

As of today, 113,777 have been tested for Covid-19.

There have been 135 recovering across England, according to WHO.

The news comes after the prime minister Boris Johnson and health secretary Matt Hancock tested positive for coronavirus.

And two more patients die in Hampshire, bringing the death toll to six.

The regional breakdown on today's figures is not yet known.

As of yesterday, Hampshire has the second highest amount of cases outside of London, as Birmingham overtakes with 290.
