NUMEROUS schools across Hampshire are closed today after the coronavirus pandemic has caused staffing shortages.

A total of 29 schools across the county have reported that staff abscences are such that they're having to part-close to students.

It comes after three schools in Basingstoke part-closed yesterday.

Here are the full list affected:

Ashwood Academy

Year 11 will be taught on site between 11am and 1.35pm - core subjects and preparations for exams will take place.

Other students will be taught by home tuition.

The Costello

The Costello will be shut to Year 9 pupils "until at least the end of this week".

Work can be found via Classcharts.

Everest Community Academy

Years 7-10 should work from home with home learning guides available on the website.

Year 11 should attend in full school uniform.

Four Lanes Infant School

Year R will be closed today. The only exception is for children whose parents are front-line emergency services staff (ie. police, fire, medical) or school staff. These children should be brought to and collected from the Butterflies Classroom.

Year 1 and 2 as usual.

Hurst Community College, Baughurst

Closed to Year 8 and 9 pupils - decisions regarding Thursday and Friday will be made later today.

Kings Furlong Infant School and Nursery

Closed for Year 2 students today - open for Nursery, Year R and Year 1.

Nursery children should be brought to the Badger Classroom at the start of their session and collected from there at the end.

Frogmore Community College, Yateley

School is closed to Year 9 pupils - work will be set via ShowMyHomework.

Marnel Junior School

Marnel Junior School is closed "until further notice" for all year groups, apart from pupils whose parents are NHS workers or healthcare professionals. This is because of staff shortages caused by Covid-19.

Work packs can be found on the website.

St Mark's Church of England Primary School

School is only open to:

  • Year 6 pupils and siblings
  • Year 2 pupils and siblings
  • Children unable to stay at home because of parental work commitments

"The likelihood is that this will be the case for the rest of the week," the website reads.

Testbourne Community School, Whitchurch

Closed for Year 8 students from today, unless otherwise notified. Year 8 students should refer to the online student portal, Microsoft Teams and online software resources.

The Vyne

Closed to pupils in Year 8 and 9. They should access learning via EPraise or school website.

Year 11 to attend their English exam and sign out after break at 11am.

Years 7 and 10 to attend their usual school day.

Yateley School

Years 10 and 12 should work from home.

Years 7, 8, 9, 11 and 13 working as usual.

Note: There are currently no known school closures in the Andover area of Test Valley.
