TRAFFIC has cleared after an earlier crash on the A34 left a car overturned on its roof.

One lane of the southbound carriageway had been closed near South Wonston since around 2.30pm. It remained so for a number of hours with police, ambulance and the fire service in attendance.

However the carriageway has now been cleared and the all lanes are open as normal.

Hampshire Constabulary confirmed that a car rolled onto its roof in the incident, although a spokesperson was unable to provide more details of any vehicles involved.

No injuries were reported, just damage to the vehicle.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said crews from Winchester and Whitchurch were at the scene, although there was no need to extricate anyone from their vehicle.

Two casualties were handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

South Central Ambulance Service have been contacted for further information.
