A senior director from Concept Energy is taking part in his ‘3 4 50’ cycling event this year to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Richard Pennington hopes to raise £3,000 for three different charities in three seperate cycling events across the country.

The first of the three events is Londond2Brighton event, the 54-mile ride from the capital to the coast which will take place on Saturday, May 23 for the British Heart Foundation.

The second will be in aid of the Royal British Leigon, which will see Richard cycle more than 250km over the course of two days from Dover to Ypres .

His final event will be the London100 event which he will be raising funds for St Michael’s Hospice in memory of two of Richard’s friends who died of cancer.

Richard said: “This is an extremely personal challenge. I have always cycled but didn’t know if I would be able to again after my treatment.

“These charities are extremely close to my own heart and being able to raise funds for them is very gratifying. I hope to be able to do them all proud.”
