A PEDESTRIAN was taken to hospital after being hit by a car.
Emergency services received a number of calls this morning after a vehicle crashed into a pedestrian on the A339.
The inicdent happened on the roundabout where the road meets the A33 in Chineham.
An onlooker said: "I hope the person was alright. They were just laying there in there road."
A spokesman for the ambulance said fortunately, the pedestrian only sustained minor injuries.
In a statement, the spokesman said: "We sent an ambulance and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance critical care car to the incident; fortunately the pedestrian had only sustained a minor hip injury and following initial treatment at the scene was then taken to North Hampshire Hospital."
