A Micheldever man has been killed after a tree fell onto his car while travelling on the A33 during Storm Ciara.
Four fire crews were sent from Basingstoke, Winchester, Eastleigh and Overton to the scene at 4pm on Sunday (February 9).
The A33 was closed for several hours while emergency services attended, but despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary said: "The 58-year-old man, from Micheldever, was driving his Mercedes from Winchester to Micheldever when the tree fell."
The driver has not been named but his next of kin have been informed and are being supported by sepcialist officers.
