A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into a gas main causing a leak.
Villagers in Crookham near Fleet had to be evacuated after the crash at 05.45 this morning.
Part of vlllage had to be cordoned off for health and safety reasons as the impact had caused a rupture to a "high-volume main".
The leak has now been repaired and residents have returned home, as of this afternoon.
The cordon has been lifted and roads have reopened, Hampshire Constabulary told the BBC.
A 35-year-old man from Fleet has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
