A fundraising page has been set up to cover the costs of the funeral of a man who died three months after a brutal assault.

Frazer Brabant, from Basingstoke, passed away in hospital on Tuesday, January 21, after three months in intensive care.

The 31-year-old father of two was attacked on Halloween last year and was discovered in the garden of a home of Gershwin Road with serious head injuries.

His mother previously urged anyone with information to come forward to help police find her son's attackers. Police launched a murder investigation after his death last week.

A campaign has now been set up to help pay for Frazer's funeral, which is taking place in London on Friday.

So far £1,500 out of the £4,500 target has been raised.

In a post to Virgin Giving Money, a friend has written: "Donations are needed urgently towards a funeral.

"Mr Frazer Brabant converted to Islam and was known as King Faisal Brabant, he was born in Clapham and lived in Charlton, London.

"Sadly he passed away aged 31 on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, in hospital after being in a coma since being attacked on Halloween (October 31, 2019).

"Sadly his next of kin are unable to cover his expenses.

"The Funeral Prayer will be on Friday at the South London Islamic Centre followed by a burial in Sidcup, after the body has been released by the coroner.

"This is a "Lawaaris Charity Account”, solely for the purpose of funerals for those who may need assistance.

"Muslims Funeral Services is a UK Charity, Registration No. 1149022.

"Please forward to friends and family, may Allah reward you all for your efforts. Ameen."
