THIEVES have stolen a till from an Indian restaurant in the early hours of this morning.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a till was stolen containing a quantity of cash from Natraj the Restaurant on Stirling Walk, Romsey.

Police say the offenders smashed a window on the property's front door to gain entry and have proceeded to take the till.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers are investigating and are following up with all relevant lines of enquiries.

"Anyone with information can call 101, quoting 44200032834. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

This comes just days after a member of staff at Mandrain Chef in Crampmoor, near Romsey, disturbed someone inside an upstairs room at about 8.30pm on Saturday.

The thieves fled the scene and after the flat was checked it was discovered that money had been stolen.
