Police have confirmed a man was arrested seen carrying a knife in Buckskin last night (January 23). 

Eye witnesses say helicopters were reported hovering over the park along with four police cars and police dogs used to catch the assailant. 

Armed Response officers were deployed at 4.23pm after reports of a 33-year-old man was seen carrying a knife in Stratton Park off of Pack Lane. 

The man was subsequently arrested in Cambrian Way on suspicion of possession of a bladed article and using threatening workds or behaviour. 

A spokesperson from Hampshire Constabulary has stated no-one was injured during the incident and the man in question remains in custody at this time. 

Officers were seen knocking on neighbours doors asking for information on a local man in connection to the incident.
