A MAN has been rushed to hospital after suffering a "medical episode" oustide Tesco.
Police, ambulance and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance were called to the Tesco superstore on Station Road in Hook at lunchtime today after the 80-year-old crashed his car into a wall.
South Central Ambulance Service say they sent an ambulance, paramedic team leader and the air ambulance to the scene after being called at 12:39.
Police were also called to the scene to assist the ambulance service.
The driver of the car was taken to Basingstoke hospital by road.
A spokesperson for SCAS said: "We received a 999 call at 12:39 with the caller reporting that a car had crashed into a wall outside Tesco on Station Road, Hook.
"We sent an ambulance, a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the incident.
"It is suspected that the 80-year-old male driver had a medical episode at the wheel.
"Following treatment at the scene, he was then taken by road in a life-threatening condition to North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke."
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary added: "We were called at 12.43pm today to assist the ambulance service following a single-vehicle collision in the car park of the Tesco store on Station Road, Hook."
