THE BASINGSTOKE Gang Show is preparing for its 40th anniversary with an extra special show.
The biennial event sees 74 guides and scouts take to the Haymarket Theatre’s stage over the course of February half term week.
A team of 10 people have dedicated over 1,000 hours to create 500 costumes, whilst 8 musicians will play 17 instruments during the live performances.
On Sunday, the participants took part in their first dress rehearsals with just over a month to go until performances begin.
Chairman, Steven Edney, said the rehearsals were “brilliant”.
“It went really well. The young adults have been rehearsing since September.
“Yesterday it was a great day because it is the first time they start wearing the costumes and they are incredible.”
Basingstoke Gang Show will be at the Haymarket from Thursday, February 13 to Saturday 22, with matinees on both Saturdays.
