HAMPSHIRE POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a crash closed the M3 earlier today.
A Volkswagen Golf hit the central reservation between junctions 5 (A287/Hook) and 6 (A339/Basingstoke) just after 7am.
It shut the southbound carriageway for almost three hours as police dealt with the incident.
It is unknown whether there were any injuries.

In a statement, Hampshire Constabulary said they are "keen to speak with anyone who was driving on this section of the motorway this morning and may have seen the Golf".
This includes people with dash cams or those that may have taken photos of the incident.
Anyone with information can contact the police on 101, quoting incident number 108 of today's date.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: "Officers closed the southbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 6 near Basingstoke after a Volkswagen Golf came to rest in the central reservation just afer 7am.
"The road was re-opened again just after 10am."
