THE M3 has been closed between Hook and Basingstoke this morning after what Highways England are calling a 'major incident'.
The southbound carriageway is shut between junction 5 (A287) and junction 6 (A339/Black Dam roundabout) after a car crashed into the central reservation during the morning rush hour.
Traffic maps show serious delays building past junction 5 and on the diversion routes - the A287 and A30.

Hampshire Constabulary say that a car has hit the central reservation, with officers on scene.
We are currently responding to an RTC on the M3 southbound, just prior to junction 6 near Basingstoke, and have closed the carriageway while officers attend.
